DNN and Catalook Activity Suite is designed for allowing the Catalook Shop owner running their web shop on DotNetNuke Web CMS, much easier Mobile management of their online shop on DotNetNuke platform.
The shop owner or administrator can very quickly check shop and portal activity when they are away from their pc using their iPhone, iPod Touch (iPad revision to follow).
The application works in conjunction with the companion modules that needs to be purchased from salaro.com and applied to the owner’s DNN Portal prior to configuring the iPhone App.
Please note that, this Application does require running alongside a DNN Modules on Salaro.com store and it will not be useful if run on its own. The module is 20 USD and without it this app has no value.
This iPhone Application needs to be configured once only to listen to the webservice that can be installed on DotNetNuke portal running Catalook Store. From there on, every time the App is launched, it will consume the web service from the portal and give the shop owner a quick overview of the shop’s activity.
If the Shop Administrator finds something interesting in their activity pages, then they can go to the designated page on the portal by clicking the My Portal Link and examine the shop activity further. The Portal administrator can furthermore install any other relevant modules they see fit in this page on their portal so to increase the speed of administrations of necessary activities in their store.
For this App, we have not included further interactions within the App itself. Instead we are passing it to the portal as we feel that it becomes more customizable by the Portal owner. Furthermore, it becomes less dependant on the version of DNN or the version of Catalook you are running. This also allows us to release the app for iPad which will have better Safari experience. However, if we get request to enhance we will release them with future upgrades.
The combination of iPhone app and module will therefore, allow busy shop owners to very quickly see shop and portal activity and if necessary to further examine or act on the portal activities, they click MY PORTAL LINK in the main view. Furthermore, lack of data will tell the owner that the portal may be down. We normally advice to place the MyPortalPage open to all users but not visible in the Menu. However, in some cases , you may require to make it Admin only so all the resources that shop owner feels important whilst mobile can be arranged with links to them. This process should therefore allow the mobile administrators to get to the necessary pages without having to enter long URLs.
